Hello fellow sketchers!
I hope you’re all well. Here's a little round up of my creative endeavours over the past couple of weeks!
📓 Daily Sketch Journal - update and reflections
I must admit I've fallen a bit behind on my daily sketch journal this week. I'm currently weighing two options: either catching up by retrospectively sketching the missed days, or simply starting fresh from today. What matters most though, is persistence – a few missed days shouldn't derail the entire journal!

🖋️ One Line Wonders with The Sketching Sisters
These past two weeks,
and I continued our weekly Zoom sketching sessions, working in our new Pith Sketchbooks on Inktober prompts. We're both feeling more confident with our monochrome work, which has been really rewarding! If you'd like to join us on this creative journey, check out our joint publication, The Sketching Sisters, where you can find all our sessions and draw along with us.

👤 Portrait Challenge
I've recently been having a go at portrait sketching as part of an Artist in Residence challenge. (There's a lovely badge at stake that I can sew onto my bag or jacket upon completion!) While faces have always been particularly challenging for me, I'm quite pleased with my recent portrait work. I credit my improved confidence to consistent practice – it really does make a difference! Sometimes the results surprise me, sometimes they don't, but the joy is in the process regardless of the outcome.
🌍 Revolve Project
Read all about my last 2 week’s Plein Air sketches for my year long Revolve project with Worcester Arts Collective.
🖊️ Fountain Pen Guide
For those interested in sketching with fountain pens,
and I recently put together a beginner-friendly guide. We've included pen and ink recommendations to help you get started – you can find all the details in our latest post.Looking Ahead
I'll be taking a family holiday next week, so expect a fresh batch of travel sketches in my next update!
Happy sketching!
