Revolve Project: Week 10 - Sketching Between Showers
Hello everyone!
Double digits - week 10 of my year-long Revolve project! It's hard to believe I've been at this for over two months now.
This week was all about timing. After days of heavy rain, I was glad of a brief dry spell to get outside with my sketch kit. With dark clouds looming, I didn’t have much time to deliberate, so chose a spot overlooking the valley of Taunton. The limited visibility on this day got me thinking - it might be interesting to come back on a clear day and compare the views. A before-and-after of sorts!
I'm happy to report that, unlike last week, I remembered my paints this time! I used wet-on-wet watercolour techniques to capture the feel of a grey, damp day. I think it really helped convey the moody atmosphere we've been having lately.
Ten weeks in, and I'm noticing some real progress. Choosing a scene to sketch doesn't feel as daunting as it did at the start. It's nice to see how practice is boosting my confidence!
As always, here is my weekly video capturing the sketch on location:

I'd love to hear about your creative projects or any tips for sketching in less-than-ideal weather. Feel free to share in the comments!
Thanks for following along on this artistic project of mine. Stay tuned for next week's update!
Happy sketching,
Emma.
