Revolve Week 23/52

Experimenting with tonal sketches

Today, video is back! I'm taking you to a quiet corner of my farm—a peaceful rural spot overlooking a bird friendly seed crop and pasture fields. With just a few simple tools—graphite, black Neocolor, and Indian ink—I'm diving into some tonal studies that capture the quiet beauty of the landscape.

I’ve been inspired recently by Sam Boughton and her online Plein Air course, which I really enjoyed, and have tried to make a start applying some of her principles into my own landscape sketching this week. I have also been watching

on you tube, as she has some wonderful content there all about sketching outside in nature.

I really enjoyed this time spent outside and am looking forward to more of these sessions.

Happy sketching :)
