Revolve Project: Week 13

A year of painting outside on location

Hello everyone!

A very quick post today to share my week 13 plein air sketch.

This week I was drawn to some sweet little calves we had just settled into a new pasture. I was half checking that they hadn’t broken out, and half thinking I might sketch them. I am happy to report that they had not broken out, and that I did indeed sketch them! I may do another one next week, as they were super calm and didn’t move around too much!

While I did capture some quick footage of the sketching process, I'm finding myself more drawn to the pure experience of art-making in these outdoor sessions. As we edge into the colder months, I may scale back on the filming aspect, though the sketching itself has become rather a cherished weekly ritual!
